Privacy Policy

Last updated:

Review4Buy ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit our website, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By using Review4Buy, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

Summary

  • You can read every article on Review4Buy without creating an account and without giving us any personal information.
  • Our own visitor statistics are cookieless and do not store your IP address.
  • Advertising cookies (including Google AdSense) are only loaded after you accept them in our cookie banner.
  • We never sell your personal information.
  • You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your data at any time by emailing contact@review4buy.com.

Information we collect

Information you give us

We only collect personal information that you choose to give us:

  • Comments. When you leave a comment, we store the name, email address, and comment text you submit. Your email address is never shown publicly; it is used only to contact you about your comment if needed.
  • Newsletter. If you subscribe to our newsletter, we store your email address, the date you subscribed, and whether you confirmed your subscription.
  • Reader accounts. If you create an account, we store your name, email address, and a securely hashed version of your password (we never store or see your actual password). Saved articles (bookmarks) are linked to your account.
  • Advertiser accounts. If you register as an advertiser, we also store your company name, website, phone number, and country, together with your campaigns, uploaded ad creatives, orders, and payment references.
  • Emails you send us. If you contact us by email, we keep the message and your email address so we can reply and keep a record of the conversation.

Information collected automatically

  • Anonymous page statistics. To understand which articles are useful, our own analytics system records the page you visited, the referring website (if your browser sends one), the general device type (desktop, mobile, or tablet), and the time of the visit. It does not use cookies, does not store your IP address, and does not build a profile of you.
  • Server logs. Like almost every website, our hosting infrastructure may temporarily keep technical logs (such as IP address, browser type, and requested URL) for security and troubleshooting. These logs are not used for advertising.

Information stored on your own device

  • Cookie choice. Your answer in our cookie banner ("Accept All" or "Essential Only") is stored in your browser's local storage so we don't ask you again on every page.
  • Theme preference. If you choose light or dark mode, that preference is stored in your browser's local storage.
  • Sign-in cookie. If you sign in, a secure session cookie keeps you signed in. It is strictly necessary for accounts to work and is deleted when you sign out or it expires.

Advertising and Google AdSense

Review4Buy is funded by advertising. We may display ads served by Google AdSense and by advertisers who buy space directly from us.

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and other websites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings at adssettings.google.com. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info/choices or, in Europe, www.youronlinechoices.eu.
  • To learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

Advertising scripts are only loaded if you click "Accept All" in our cookie banner. If you choose "Essential Only", Google AdSense is not loaded and no advertising cookies are set by it. Direct-sold banner ads on our site are simple images with a link and do not set cookies.

For more detail, see our Cookie Policy and Advertising Policy.

How we use your information

We use the information described above only to:

  • publish and moderate comments;
  • send the newsletter you subscribed to, and let you unsubscribe;
  • create and secure your account, including password resets and email verification;
  • run advertiser campaigns, verify payments, and send campaign-related notices;
  • reply to your messages and handle correction or privacy requests;
  • understand which content is popular so we can improve the site;
  • protect the site against spam, fraud, and abuse; and
  • comply with legal obligations.

We do not use your information for automated decision-making that has legal or similarly significant effects on you.

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on: consent (advertising cookies, newsletter), performance of a contract (reader and advertiser accounts), legitimate interests (anonymous statistics, security, comment moderation), and legal obligation (record keeping where required by law). You can withdraw consent at any time.

Sharing your information

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We only share it with:

  • Service providers that help us run the site, such as our hosting provider and, when configured, our email delivery provider. They may only use the data to provide their service to us.
  • Google, when you have accepted advertising cookies, as described above.
  • Payment networks. Advertisers pay through Binance. We receive the payment reference, amount, and status needed to confirm the order; we never receive your Binance login details.
  • Authorities, when we are legally required to, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of our readers, advertisers, or Review4Buy.

How long we keep information

  • Comments are kept while they are published on the site, or until you ask us to remove them.
  • Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
  • Account data is kept while your account exists. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data unless we must keep some of it by law (for example, advertiser payment records).
  • Anonymous page statistics contain no personal information and may be kept indefinitely.

Security

Passwords are stored only as strong one-way hashes. Sensitive configuration such as payment and API keys is stored encrypted. Access to our admin area is limited to authorised staff. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify affected users where required by law if a breach occurs.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • access the personal information we hold about you;
  • correct inaccurate information;
  • delete your information;
  • object to or restrict certain processing;
  • receive a copy of your data in a portable format; and
  • withdraw consent at any time (for example, by changing your cookie choice or unsubscribing).

To make a request, email contact@review4buy.com from the address associated with your data. We may ask you to confirm your identity before acting on the request. You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.

California residents: we do not sell or "share" personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA, and we do not knowingly sell the personal information of anyone under 16.

Children's privacy

Review4Buy is written for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Our articles link to other websites, including retailers and manufacturers. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites. Please read their privacy policies before providing any information.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed. Significant changes will be highlighted on this page.
